Now that’s false advertising clever marketing, and although a more appropriate title might have been “GMC’s First Hybrid SUV”…upon further research we decided that this clever omission of truth was only due to headline contraints, later corrected to read “world’s first two mode hybrid suv”.

Following the link we learned that the hybrid Yukon will be available in late 2007 (are they serious?) and we were greated with a fun slogan…wait for it…Conservation without Compromise. Now that is powerful! The green ‘08 Yukon apparently delivers a 50% improvement in city fuel economy - based on an estimated 21 mpg for the 2WD hybrid Yukon compared to only 14 mpg (city) for it’s gas-only sibling. (It wasn’t as obvious that the hybrid version also improves highway mileage by 10%, getting 22 mpg vs. 20 for it’s more gassy brother.)
