On the 10th March 2005 at 3.24 pm local time, the Sportec Porsche Cayenne SP600M road broke the production car speed record (SUV-Class), achieving a new official speed of 191.66 km / h (308.45 km / h) at the ATP site.
A team of five engineers and mechanics with Sportec founder Ueli Hodel has a technical standard Sportec Cayenne SP600M to take the top speed record for productions road cars (SUV-Class). Mr. Ueli Hodel himself led the SP600M.
The Sportec Cayenne Klemann raised official mark of 175 mph (282 kph) set at Nardo / Auto in 2003 with over 191.66 mph (308.45 kph).
A team from the ATP and TAG Heuer technicians independently verfied the speed of Sportec SP600M. The car was pointed using Tag Heuer `s Chromprinter CP at 705 with photocells stationary at the track, recording the average speed during 1 km.
The land of ATP is a circular track with a circumference of 12.3 km. This means that the car is driven in a constant turning motion, which makes the exercise and speed even more impressive.
Co-founder of the Company Sportec, Ueli Hodel feels happy to finally prove the performance of this 'SUV Model' , Sportec Porsche Cayenne SP600M "This test was very important to us. We have achieved all the objectives of the Cayenne Turbo project."
